Corinthian Recordings was launched on November 14, 2005. We are the third all digital Drum & Bass label in history behind Kinetic & ShadyBrain. Thesis (Bill Hoffman) named the label after his daughter, Corrine. After seeing a number of up & coming producers on Trace's DSCI4 forum, Bill decided to create the label as a release outlet for these sort of Drum & Bass artists. Beatport was in its infancy at that point and Drum & Bass releases were almost 100% all vinyl distribution.
At that point there was not any real vehicle for releasing MP3 files for digital dj'ing. In fact CDJs were really only starting to gain popularity in Bill's hometown of Atlanta, GA. Paypal had a service called "Payloadz" which allows people to sell files online. Bill used this service to release tracks and also hired Joe Kocovsky to design the first Corinthian Recordings website. Axi (Belgium) and Mr. Lettuce (Germany) stood out among the DSCI4 forum as new Drum & Bass artists on the rise. This would work out to the first two releases: Axi - Receptor [COR001] & Mr. Lettuce - Alone [COR002].
2006 was spent in obtaining new tracks and commissioning remixes. Thesis and his production partner Asylum had several originals remixed for Corinthian. It also featured tracks from Dj G-I-S (Germany), Ralo (Atlanta, GA), & Identity (Brazil / USA) which members included future Drum & Bass megastars BTK and NC-17.
2007 featured more tracks from Axi & Mr. Lettuce as well as 2 Sense (Alabama), Kaotic Grace (Alabama), Cannon Boys (Maryland), Zero (Texas), Kubatko (Czech Republic) BTK (Brazil / UK) and "the trio from Puerto Rico" aka Custom Soldierz. We also started Corinthian Radio on the Leetradio web station. This was a weekly broadcast that ran from 2007 - 2011.
